WAYS I CAN HELP
When you need support and direction now
My counselling is grounded in evidence-based approaches. My areas of expertise include relationship counselling, anxiety, trauma-informed counselling and brief intervention supporting day-to-day concerns.
IMMEDIATE EMOTIONAL DISTRESS
When you need support and direction now. Brief intervention focuses on immediate support, emotional stability and practical next steps.
ANXIETY AND STRESS
When your mind won't switch off and your emotions feel too much. Anxiety often feels like it appears out of nowhere. But there's usually more going on internally.
TRAUMA INFORMED COUNSELLING
Your reactions make sense when you are aware where they come from. Past experiences can shape how we relate to ourselves and others well into adulthood.
RELATIONSHIP COUNSELLING
Stop having the same argument with different words.
Together, we’ll uncover what’s really driving the conflict and why you both keep walking away feeling unheard, frustrated or disconnected.
EMOTIONAL REACTIONS & PATTERNS
Sometimes our reactions feel bigger than the situation. We become defensive, shut down, avoid difficult conversations or put everyone else first, and wonder, “Why do I keep doing this?”
INTEGRATIVE DEPTH WORK COUNSELLING
We work to uncover underlying beliefs, past experiences and subconscious patterns that influence how we think, feel and behave. These often automatic responses can keep us stuck in emotional and behavioural cycles.
My approach to counselling
What drives my work as a counsellor is a deep interest in understanding why we struggle with the things we do — and what it takes to change them.
Although, I specialise in working with anxiety, trauma, grief and relationship difficulties, I believe there is often much more to these struggles than what we see on the surface.
We can go through life doing what needs to be done, maintaining relationships and getting on with things, yet still find ourselves struggling in ways we can't quite explain.
Internally we doubt ourselves, even when we have every reason not to. We find ourselves repeating the same patterns in relationships or find that past experiences continue to shape how we feel, react and relate to others long after the circumstances have changed.
These are the questions that drive my work.
Our experiences shape us in ways we don't always recognise. Over time, we develop beliefs about ourselves, expectations of others and ways of responding to the world that can become so automatic they feel like part of who we are. Some of these patterns may once have served a purpose, but can eventually hold us back, undermine our relationships or leave us struggling with the same difficulties despite our best efforts to change.
This is where I believe counselling can make a real difference.
My approach goes beyond managing symptoms or focusing solely on what's happening in the present. I draw on depth-oriented and integrative counselling to explore the underlying emotional experiences, beliefs and subconscious patterns that may be driving behaviour. I want to help you make connections, gain a deeper understanding of yourself and work through the things that continue to affect your life today.
For me, the real value of this work lies in what becomes possible when we begin to understand ourselves differently. Rather than continually fighting the same battles, we can start to recognise what is happening beneath our reactions and work towards change at a deeper level.
